The IPL Team of 2011: ZooZooZ Continued

The third edition of IPL is back (the first edition, the second edition) ! There was not much of a selection headache for the selection panel as most of the 'star performers' of the year merited selection based on their performances. So, without consuming more words, let's introduce the team.
The IPL Team of 2011.

1) Mayawati: Julian Assange might not know who is a 'dalit'. But, Mayawati knows that Julian Assange is "anti-dalit". Wondering what the matter is? Early last year, when Wikileaks 'leaked' some classified and official documents, some of them had references to Mayawati as 'dictator' and treating government servants as servants !. How did Mayawati respond? "Wikileaks and Julian Assange are anti-dalit". Now, Julian Assange was on backfoot. Imagine, how will bowlers feel if Mayawati is at the crease? Mayawati as the aggressive opener.

Confused Janta Party (CJP)

How would you react if things you planned to do or would have done, given a chance, is done by someone else?
?

And what if, that 'someone else' is someone you label as your 'adversary'?

Would you be angry?
Flummoxed?
Surprised?
or Confused?

123 Nuclear Deal with the US, Oil prices deregulation, FDI in Retail, &...
Something striking?

Keeping it Simple

We love Simple things.
Don't we?

Simple answers.
Simple reasons.
Simple explanations.
Simple exams.
Simple life.
Simple food.
Simple life-partners (seedhi-saadi/seedha-saada)
Simplicity.
etc. etc....

No matter how 'complex' world we may find ourselves in, we tend to crave for simple things.
There is one catch however.

We confuse 'being simple' with 'being truth/correct', and here in lies the fallacy.

We tend to forget that what is simple might not always be correct.
Often we accept simple explanations, if it is what we 'want' to believe, or if it is what we 'feel' is correct.

It often limits our ability to question the explanation/reason/answer/etc.etc.
It limits our ability to question the assumptions beneath the Question.

26

Well, how important is 26?

Hmm?
Think.

Hint: It's not about people born on 26th of a month. Look at the colours in the above photograph

Got it?
Think again.

Another hint: Ask Peter or Nathan.

Got it now?
No?

Ok, one last hint: Ask any of Shane Watson, Philips Hughes, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris, or Shaun Marsh.

They will tell you how important 26 is.

NeMari TJ: New Virus Discovered

A new virus (NeMari TJ), claimed to be responsible for sudden and unprecedented illness of Indian politicians has been discovered recently.

A team of scientists, medical professionals, psychologists, social scientists, HR experts, legal experts, anthropologists, biologists, Facebookers, and housekeeping experts working non-stop for the last 3650 days has made this discovery.

Though no explanation has so far been given about keeping such a name for the virus, it is believed that NeMari  stands for Neta ki biMari (Illness of the Politician). TJ stands for Tihar & other Jails, though some may think that it stands for Tihar Jail. ( PS: The reason that Tihar Jail was chosen for the name was because most housekeeping experts came from Tihar Jail, where the effect of NeMari TJ is likely to be pronounced).

I Love Me

I am the Chief Minister of an Indian state.
The largest Indian state.
I have to 'make it large'.

I am the King of my state.
Oh, sorry !
Did I just say King?
Actually I am the Queen of my state.
Queen of the largest state in India.

I don't care if somebody loves me or not.
I love it
I love myself.
I love me.

Chicken:Egg :: Problem:Solution

What came first?
Chicken? or egg?

Well, the debate has been going on for ages and the verdict it still not yet out, unless one considers assertions made by some British Scientists last year, who believe that it was chicken which came out first.
Now whether it was chicken or egg, there is a very remote possibility that it is going to  affect anybody's life now.

But the same cannot be said in the case of problem and solution.
What comes first?
Or more importantly, what should come first?
Problem?
or Solution?
And should we be bothered which comes first?

Hazaron for Hazare

So much has already been (and is being) written/debated/discussed/shown about the topic this year, that I initially wondered whether to write something on it or not.
But, then I thought let me put my two cents on the topic.

I will try to keep it short, but I am not sure if I will indeed be successful in that.

In my opinion, there is not one, but multiple issues related to the current episode.

1) Whether the manner in which Anna Hazare was tackled a day after the Independence Day was correct or not?
2) Whether the points appearing in the Lokpal version of Hazare are justified/valid or not ?
3) Whether the Central Government has tackled this issue in the last couple of months in the way it ought to or not?

Love & Water

We don't value things which we get for free.
Do we?

Take the above statement the way you like.
Take it as a wild imagination.
or take it as a 'philosophical' utterance
or take it as an 'utter nonsense'.

Take it whichever way you like it, but you can't deny that there is a shred of truth in the statement.

Things which we get for free, we take them for granted and hardly ever take them the way we ought to.

India...Bhaरत... हिन्दुस्तान...

Strange title?
Isn't it?

Strange indeed.
To hear about the existence of three nations within a country is strange.
To observe it through your own eyes is stranger indeed !

I had read and heard about the existence of two extremities within our country, but never really 'experienced' it....
But on the basis of what I have observed and experienced in the past two months, I have now started believing that there are three, and not two, nations within this country.

India...
Bhaरत...and
हिन्दुस्तान...

180⁰ turn

Its very rare that you get a chance to witness a 'mathematical' event, or rather an event to which you can attach a mathematical connotation...
The Grand Old Party (GOP) of India has decided that enough is enough.
Now why do the citizens of India need to switch on the family dramas for the entertainment, when our own GOP has the expertise, the zeal, and the actors to provide it !

A B D E F G H....X Y Z

Did you spot thing odd ?
or did I miss something?
Here is the explanation:

There is a possibility that the administrators in charge of cricket in the largest economy of Africa will omit one letter from the language/communications guide for the present and future bunch of cricketers. It is to taken as a precautionary step to avoid what had happened 5 times before 2011, and what happened the 6th time in 2011.

Whether it succeeds or not is a separate issue.

I accept responsibility !

Now this has got to be funny.
Imagine what was the reaction of our 'Prime' Minister on being asked about the latest embarrassment for the UPA government, PJ Thomas case (ex-Chief Vigilance Commissioner)??

Nothing remarkable again.
As usual he replied, 'I accept responsibility'.

Kalmadi gets a free run to mess with Commonwealth Games and he literally turns it into "common-wealth".
The PM prefers keeping mum.

The Conspirationist

I was not really sure whether there actually was a word like "conspirationist", but when MS Word highlighted the word in red, I knew that my hunch was right. There is no such word as that.
But even if there isn't a word like that, it is the word which best captures the state of mind which is common to most Indians , including me : belief in the theory of conspiracy !
We always strive to find the conspiracy behind every statement, every act, every gesture, and every something !

What next?

What next?

India's GDP grows by 8.75 % !
Manufacturing sector witnesses impressive growth !
Future is very bright for India !
The moment of India has arrived !

We have been reading and hearing such comments for quite some now. Comments ranging from pure facts to pure fiction have been dished out for us across newspapers, televisions, internet, office places, and practically every place we go to.

So, now what?

Of the Arundhati Roys....

Sometimes you need to know how bad things can turn out to be in order to understand how good things actually are !
Sometimes you also need to know how unfortunate u can be in order to realise how fortunate you actually are !
This is something which Arundhati Roy and her cohorts need to understand.

Sample this : 1) the wife of arrested 'Maoist sympathizer' Binayak Sen commented last week : I wish we were in some 'liberal democratic country', and not India. We fear for our lives here.

2) Arundhati Roy : Maoists are fully justified in taking up arms against the 'Indian State'.

The IPL Team of 2010 : ZooZooZ are back

The IPL season is back !!
After the positive response to the IPL team of 2009, the selectors  are back with the IPL team of 2010. There has been a delay of couple of days in picking the team compared to the last year, but it only shows the merit of the players in contention this year, which forced the selectors to think hard (something which the Indian selectors don't like to !) !!
The rules remain the same and performances of players in 2010 only have been taken into consideration while picking up the team. The name remains the same: ZooZooZ ( which was the flavor in 2009), though one also considered for a while the Deceivers (which is the theme for 2010).
