Confused Janta Party (CJP)

How would you react if things you planned to do or would have done, given a chance, is done by someone else?
?

And what if, that 'someone else' is someone you label as your 'adversary'?

Would you be angry?
Flummoxed?
Surprised?
or Confused?

123 Nuclear Deal with the US, Oil prices deregulation, FDI in Retail, &...
Something striking?

Given a chance, the CJP would have gone ahead with the US- 123 Nuclear Deal.
But, what did it do when 'someone else' went ahead with it and took 'full' credit for it?
Complimented the 'other party'?
Supported the 'other party'?
No.
CJP blames and criticizes the 'other party' for XYZ

Or consider another case: deregulation of oil prices.
CJP allowed partial deregulation of oil prices during its rule and even considered allowing complete deregulation for a while, but did not do so due to various reasons.
But today again, when 'someone else' goes ahead and does what CJP would have done, CJP again is at a fix.
Should it compliment the 'other party'?
Support the 'other party'?
No.
CJP criticizes the 'other party' for XYZ (again).

Now consider the latest in the series:
Allowing FDI in retail.
In its manifesto during 2004 elections, and during other occasions also, CJP and its leaders had expressed their support for allowing FDI in retail.
Today CJP says that "party stand could change with time, and there is no bar against wisdom".
CJP again criticizes the 'other party' for XYZ (umpteenth number of time).

It is a different matter to make efforts to put your adversary in difficult situations.
But, it is another matter to do so many flip-flops, so many times, on so many issues.

The issue here is not to analyze the pros and cons of any particular policy.
The matter, instead, is the frequency of flip-flops and the ludicrous manner in which CJP appears to defend itself.

If it happens once, you can call it an aberration.
If it happens twice, you ignore it.
If it happens the third time, you take notice of it and try to fix it.
But, if it becomes an habit, what do you do?

Is it identity crisis?
Or is it leadership crisis?
Or is it utter chaos and confusion?

Confused Janta Party?
Breaking Janta Party?
CJP? or BJP?

  1. I agree that there is a leadership and identity crisis in BJP. But any other party would also have done the same thing. Congress apposed the partial de-regulations... I am sure if BJP was in power and if they had implemented these retail sector reforms, congress would have definitely apposed them.
We are a democracy and people in power do not want the welfare of people. The people in opposition just cannot do away with the "oppose"...

  2. That exactly is what I believe is the crux of the problem. 'Because you did like that at your time, I would do the same in my time'.It is childish (in my opinion) if you play games like this at the central stage: the Parliament. If the only purpose of Opposition is to 'oppose everything which the government proposes', then one wonders if this is the form of democracy 'people' want. Where BJP could have set a precedent for opposition parties, it has unfortunately tried to stoop down to the lowest ebbs ! That is why, it has transformed from BJP to CJP !
